DONGKAMUKAM: On Sunday, the Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS) and Nepali Sahitya Sabha (Karbi Anglong District Committee) organized a shraddhanjali programme of Khagendra Dahal (58) who passed away on June 22. The programme was held at Mugasong near Tumpreng, West Karbi Anglong.

“He was a multi-talented litterateur who wrote many articles on different tribes, socio-economic and political conditions, culture and education and poems in magazines,” said Durga Khatiwara, president of ANSS. Through his works, Dahal built a relationship between Nepali and Assamese literature, Khatiwara further said. He appealed to build an epitaph in memory to the young writer. Dr Chintamani Sharma, the working president of ANSS, said, “His untimely demise has created a void not only in the Nepali community but the Assamese community as well.”
