Honest Assam Police Constable to Get Instant Promotion to Inspector Rank: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI:

Even a police constable will be promoted to the rank of Inspector if he or she demonstrated exceptional honesty, commitment to duty, exemplary integrity, and good work, according to Chief Minister Himanata Biswa Sarma. 

The Chief Minister today appointed Home Guard Borsing Bey, who seized a large quantity of drugs from a group of illicit narcotics traffickers and refused to accept a payment from them to release the same. 

On June 21 Bey seized the drugs from a Guwahati-bound bus from Imphal, Manipur, which market value is around Rs. 12 crores. He also assisted in the arrest of three persons, including a lady who was carrying narcotics on the bus. Bey seized the narcotics on June 21 from a Guwahati-bound bus from Imphal, Manipur, with a market worth of about Rs. 12 crores. Many people praised the security personnel's honesty on many forums. 

For his commitment and honesty toward duty, the Assam government has appointed him as a constable in the state police. The Chief Minister praised the Home Guard's exemplary act and honesty, saying that Bey is a symbol of the Assam Police's bravery. 

Encouraging other personnel of the state police to follow the footstep of Borsing Bey, Chief Minister Sarma also said," The state government would promote a constable up to the rank of Inspector if he or she keeps higher integrity towards his/her duty and does good works as a reward." 

He further stated that the state government will cover all medical expenses incurred by Assam Police officers. "A cabinet decision would be taken to bear all kind of medical expenditure of Assam Police Personnel, soon," the Chief Minister said. 

The Chief Minister, who had declared a war on illegal drug trafficking, said that all of the Northeast's outlawed armed organizations are participating in the unlawful trade. 

The Assam Police, led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, has done an excellent job of guaranteeing a crime-free Assam and being watchful against criminal activity.
