HS examinee of Pathsala Sikshapith attacked in broad daylight

PATHSALA: In a shocking incident, two HS examinees of Pathsala Sikshapith were attacked in broad daylight on Wednesday at Pathsala town. Both were grievously injured and are now treated in Barpeta and Nalbari.

As per the report, both the examinees were on the way to their rented houses in a motorcycle after appearing for the HS final examination. Suddenly one i-20 chased them and started to attack them and reportedly both the student lost their sense on the road as they were reportedly kicked at their sensitive parts. The students were later rescued by the locals and rushed to the hospital for treatment. They were identified as Suman Das and Gunin Das, both around 18 years of age.

After providing first aid, Suman was sent to Nalbari for better treatment while Gunin was sent to Barpeta. People gathered in the spot and one culprit, Simanta Kalita was handed over the police and another Dhiraj Kalita fled from the scene with the car. Guardian of Suman Das lodged an FIR at Pathsala Outpost demanding an enquiry into the incident. The culprit also damaged the bike of the student as alleged in FIR. Meanwhile, people of the locality, including Pathsala AASU, teachers and staff demanded punishment of the culprit.
