Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered, two arrested at Indo-Bhutan border

GOSSAIGAON: Acting upon specific information, Kokrajhar District Police, Commando Bn staff along with 210 Cobra launched a joint operation at Lungsung along the Indo-Bhutan border on Friday. During the operation, the joint team apprehended two Adivasi extremist cadres.

The extremists have been identified as Pudan Murmu (45), son of Paltan Murmu, resident of Kejhorna; and Bajun Murmu (24), son of Dewan Murmu, resident of Superguri of Lungsung forest range under Kokrajhar district. Two AK series rifles, two AK magazines, one muzzle-loading gun, five rounds of AK ammunition and 637 live rounds of .30M1 weapon were recovered from their possession. A case has been registered and further investigation is going on.
