Huge cache of drugs seized, 3 arrested in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Acting on a tip-off, Saikhowa Ghat police under Sadiya police district seized a huge cache of drugs along with cash from a car on Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu (Dholla-Sadiya Bridge) on Wednesday night and arrested three occupants of the Hyundai i20 with registration number AS 19H 0020. The car was coming from Nagaland and proceeding towards Sadiya when it was intercepted.

According to reports, the drugs weighing around 357 grams packed in 27 containers were concealed in tyres. The arrested peddlers have been identified as Jaiswal (Karbi Anglong), Roshan Kumar (Manipur) and Dulu Baruah (Sadiya). The police also recovered Rs 2.50 lakh along with six mobile phones from their possession. The police suspect that the peddlers carried huge quantity of drugs from Nagaland and sold some of the consignments in transit.
