Huge quantity of suspected brown sugar seized, 2 held in Changsari

RANGIA: Acting on a tip-off, Changsari Police, headed by Kankan Kumar Nath, SDPO Rangia, seized a huge quantity of suspected brown sugar and 1.75 lakh tablets worth more than crores of rupees from a Rangia-bound truck.

According to the SDPO Rangia, the truck was coming from Manipur. On the basis of specific information, the Changsari Police detained the truck bearing number MN-02-G0801. They searched the truck but failed to recover the drugs. But when police interrogated both the driver and his helper, they showed the hidden chamber made for concealing the drugs under the driver's seat. Police recovered the drugs from that chamber and detained both Md Thaoba and Md Sahrookh Khan for further investigation.
