LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad (HYCPA) distributed food items among COVID-19 affected families living at Rantijan village located around 15 km away from North Lakhimpur town. The organization initiated the move under its 'Manuhe Manuhor Babe' programme and distributed packets consisting of rice, dal, potato, onion, soybeans, salt, turmeric powder, mustard oil, biscuits, detergent powder and soap to each family.
Notably, the area was under micro containment zone a few days ago owing to detection of a number of COVID-19 patients. The activists of the organization, led by president Jugmajyoti Dutta, distributed the food items among the families which were deprived of COVID-19 relief provided by the district administration.
