LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad, Asom (HYCPA) staged strong protest against China on Thursday.
Twenty Indian soldiers were killed in a clash with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh's Galwan Valley on Monday night. The activists of the organization expressed vehement resentments against the Chinese aggression by burning the flag of China and Chinese commercial products at the Main Chariali of North Lakhimpur town. More than 100 activists of the organization rocked the environment by shouting multiple slogans against China and calling upon all to boycott Chinese products.
During the protest, HYCPA Lakhimpur unit president Jugmajyoti Dutta, working president Rajib Singh and general secretary Madhab Das came down heavily against China for the growing aggression of the nation against India.
"Those who are still purchasing Chinese products should be regarded as the enemy of the nation. The use and purchase of Chinese products is an example of activities against the nation at a time when our Army is making supreme sacrifice for our security," said president Jugmajyoti Dutta.
General secretary Madhav Das also criticized China in strong terms while staging the protest. "China has always opposed India to be included in the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). The country has not only illegally occupied Aksai Chin, which is part of India, but also instigated and helped Pakistan to fight against our country. The country has also supported and given shelter to anti-India insurgent groups since a long time. Moreover, the country has hatched conspiracy to turn Assam into a desert by blocking the mighty Brahmaputra at its origin at Yarlung Tsanpo in Tibet by constructing mega river dam and by diverting the river water to its deserts. Thus, the country has always stood against the greater interest of India," he said. In the protest programme, HYCPA central committee organizing secretary Bitumoni Gogoi, district vice-president Ghanakanta Borah along with other leaders and activists of North Lakhimpur town committee, Boginadi, Chaoldhowa, Bodhakora and Gogamukh regional committees were present. The activists lit earthen lamps in North Lakhimpur town in the evening paying deep tribute to the martyrs who were killed in the violent clash.
