Illegal liquor seized in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Acting on a tip-off, a joint excise raid was carried out on Friday with the help of Sonitpur Police and Inspector of Excise, Dhekiajuli at Jangkhang Srigaon (Gulai) under Missamari Police station in Sonitpur district and an illegal mini godown of liquor was busted from the house of Bharat Basumatary. During the course of the raid around 26 cartons of IMFL, 36 loose bottles, 13 cartons of Beer and 12 loose bottles were seized. Bharat Basumatary was not found at the place and managed to escape, police officials said.
