Illicit liquor seized; 2 held by Assam Police

TINSUKIA: The Digboi Excise Circle, with the cooperation of Bordumsa Police under Margherita subdivision, apprehended Debo Borah (34) from No 2 Ritu Kothalguri and Biplob Borah (40) from No 2 Naya Kuju of Dihing Mouza under Bordumsa PS on Wednesday. Two cases DIG/EX/2022/731 and DIG/EX/2022/732 under section 53(1)(a) of Assam Excise Act 2000(as Amended) were registered against the accused at Digboi Excise Circle. Beer around 20.39 BL and IMFL 13.68 BL marked for sale in Arunachal Pradesh only were seized by the team and the two accused were sent to judicial custody.

JAMUGURIHAT: A total of 20 cartons of Arunachali liquor along with a Bolero bearing registration number AS 07L 8132 were seized by a team of Jamuguri police here on Thursday. Jamuguri police managed to apprehend one Suraj Mili, a linkman of liquor trading, following secret information provided by one Raghu Bora, secretary of Village Defence Party (VDP), Jamugurihat while two managed to escape from the site.
