Guwahati: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted heavy rainfall over three northeastern states -- Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya.
The weather forecasting body also predicted that a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal this week.
''Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 05th & over Assam-Meghalaya on 05th, 07th & 08th April and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim during 05th-07th April,'' IMD tweeted.
As per the IMD, very heavy rainfall is very likely over isolated places of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh & Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim, and isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Meghalaya on 04th April 2022.
Moreover, the heatwave spell is likely to continue over Punjab, south Haryana-Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh during the next 5 days and over Gujarat, Vidarbha, Jharkhand during the next 2 days, it added.
