LAKHIMPUR: The inaugural session of the School Mentoring Programme initiated by North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) was held on Friday.
The event was held at North Lakhimpur Town High School under the chairmanship of Bani Kanta Konwar, the Vice-Principal (Academic) of the college-cum-president of the School Mentoring Committee. The objective of the event was explained by coordinator Dr. Binod Chetia. Headmaster of North Lakhimpur Town High School, Mohan Kumar Das delivered the welcome speech.
On the other hand, Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia, the Principal of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), delivered his lecture by explaining the details of the School Mentoring Programme. "The main objective of this programme is to provide guidance and counseling to the school through the college in holistic development purpose," Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia said.
Assistant Professor of the Department of Education, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) Dr. Ishmirekha Hundique, teacher Akul Sarmah Baruah also spoke on the occasion. In the same event, the farewell ceremony of Koushalya Gogoi, the retired teacher of North Lakhimpur Town High School, was also held. Secretary of North Lakhimpur unit of Karmchari Parishad Sishuram Borah was present in the event along with a host of dignitaries.
