New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has blacklisted seven individuals from Bangladesh after it received intel from Assam Police over their involvement in objectionable activities in the state and other parts of the country.
As per reports, Of these seven individuals, six are religious leaders while one is a singer.
The Assam Police report which was sent to Home Ministry and the MEA claimed that these individuals are engaged in preaching anti-India sentiments.
Following this, the MEA had blacklisted the visas of all seven individuals and presently police are now investigating the indoctrination angle.
As per several media reports, the six preachers are Jallaluddin Usmani, Ahmed Hossain or Mufti Hussain, Abu Taher, Mohammed Jakaria, Khawaja Badruddoza Haider and Hazrat Maulana Mufti Rofiqul.
Apart from them, Singer Munia Moon, also known as Muhaimen Un Nahar was also blacklisted.
The revelations came as the Assam Police continues to investigate the Ansarullah Bangla Team case.
A few months back, state police had cracked down on a module of ABT in lower Assam and apprehended over a dozen people including a Bangladeshi.
