MANGALDAI: Reiterating their commitment to fellow countrymen while rendering sincere, selfless and sustained service to the nation and assisting the civil administration in fighting against the insurgency, an Army unit of Red Horns Division under the flagship of Operation Sadbhavana conducted a Medical Aid Camp at Ga-dhowaChapori near Mangaldai town district on Saturday. Despite performing its task of protecting the dignity, honour and sovereignty of the nation, Army has extended a helping hand to the people at hours of crisis and need with the aim to reach out and deliver basic essential medical and health care to the impoverished and poverty stricken population in the interiors of lower Assam. The medical camp was conducted with the assistance of Darrang District Health Society, wherein, a team of Army and civil doctors along with nursing staff provided their services for this noble cause. A total of over 1,000 locals were attended to. The camp witnessed a huge response from the local populace.

Keeping the COVID-19 protocols in mind the camp also conducted a COVID awareness program to make people aware about the pandemic and measures to keep oneself safe.

It is pertinent to mention that this is the second medical camp being organized by the Army under Operation Sadbhavna this month with the first being organized at a rural area of Sialmari No 2 village of Darrang district which was also coincided with International Minorities Day. The sustained efforts of the Army to uplift society were lauded by one and all.

Operation Sadbhavana, a social responsibility initiative by the Indian Army, has for long served the acute and basic requirements of the local populace in forms of skill development, education, sports and national integration by establishing schools and vocational training centres, conducting various training seminars and tours across the country. This initiative will be for long appreciated by the countrymen and especially the Assamese people and will never for it.
