DIBRUGARH: The Indian Army in collaboration with National Integrity & Educational Development Organization (NIEDO) and Axis Bank, will soon launch a major educational project in Dibrugarh district of Upper Assam.

The project named ‘Deepak’ (Dao Entrance Exams Preparatory and Knowledge Centre) will prepare children of weaker sections of the society for NEET, JEE, CLAT, AILET, LSAT, CLAT, SLAT, CUET etc. The project will focus on value-based education, skilling and mentorship with an objective to reform the lives of underprivileged children in the border region of Northeast India.

Free of cost teaching, messing and lodging facilities will be provided to deserving students free of cost. NIEDO, a renowned NGO has been partnered with for selection and mentoring the deserving students.

Axis bank has been partnered with as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities. Apart from providing bright future to the children, the project will also give vocational opportunities for the locals, veterans and Veer Naris. The project will run under the aegis of Spear Corps under the supervision of Dao Division at Dibrugarh. The project for reforming lives of young children is an epitome of Indian Army’s commitment towards nation building.

The MoU signing ceremony between Indian Army and corporate partners was held at the Dibrugarh University Auditorium, Dibrugarh. The project is expected to commence its services from June 2023 with at least 80-100 students participating in the maiden venture.
