GUWAHATI: The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, an organization under the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, observed the 73rd Constitution Day or 'Samvidhan Diwas' at its premises with the support and cooperation of the faculty and staff of the institute.

The Preamble to the Constitution of India and Fundamental Duties as enshrined in Article 51A of the Constitution were read out by Dr Lalit Sharma, Director of IIE, in the presence of the faculty and staff of the institute as a pledge.

On this special day Dr Sharma, while paying rich tribute to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of the Constitution, said that our Constitution lays down the fundamental political principles, right, duties and power of the Government, besides fundamental rights, directive principles and duties of citizens, stated a press release.

Various activities on constitutional democracy were also held on the occasions where officials and staff participated. In 2015, the Union Ministry of Social Justice had notified the decision of the Centre to celebrate November 26 as Constitution Day to promote constitutional values among citizens.
