Tezpur: A meeting of the District Task Force on Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office recently to discuss the programme which will be rolled out in Sonitpur district from December 3 along with the rest of the country.

The meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh, discussed in detail the various aspects related to IMI 2.0 and its proper implementation so that the programme’s goal of 90 percent immunization could be achieved. The programme will specifically target children between 0-2 years of age and pregnant women who have been left out of routine immunization, with a focus on hard-to-reach areas.

Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh directed the officials involved with the immunization process to ensure proper identification of left-out beneficiaries and fix targets accordingly and at the same time lay special focus on tea garden areas. He also spoke about making a proper gap analysis and collecting correct data so that such programmes could be properly planned and executed.

District Immunization Officer Dr. Biman Sharma said that micro-plans had been formed and ASHA/ Anganwadi workers had been roped in to mobilize the masses and he sought active cooperation from line departments concerned. Additional CM&HO Dr. Phani Pathak, Joint Director, Health Services, Dr. Krishna Kemprai, SDH&MOs from various block PHCs, heads of various line departments and other officials of the health department were present in the meeting.
