Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 immunization drive launched in Tezpur

Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0, the vaccine catch-up campaign, which focusses on reaching zero-dose children aged between 0 and 5 years and pregnant women who might have missed any vaccine doses in the national immunisation campaign was launched along with the rest of the State, the district level launch of Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI 5.0) of Sonitpur district was held on Monday at PPC, Kanaklata Civil Hospital, Tezpur.

TEZPUR: Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0, the vaccine catch-up campaign, which focusses on reaching zero-dose children aged between 0 and 5 years and pregnant women who might have missed any vaccine doses in the national immunisation campaign was launched along with the rest of the State, the district level launch of Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI 5.0) of Sonitpur district was held on Monday at PPC, Kanaklata Civil Hospital, Tezpur. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Health Twahir Alam ceremonially launched the programme in presence of Dr. Jiauddin Ahmed, Joint Director of Health, Dr. Biman Sarma, Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer, FW, Dr. Tutumoni Handique, District Immanuzation Officer, Binoy Das , District Programme Officer, NHM and other dignitaries.

The IMI 5.0 campaign will continue till August 12 followed by the second round from September 11 to September 16 and third round from October 9 to October 14. IMI 5.0 aims to create a sustainable positive impact on the welfare of children by identifying pregnant women and children who are excluded from vaccination for various reasons and providing vaccination.

Twahir Alam, ADC, Health urged to vaccinate the children and pregnant women who are still excluded from the vaccination and further sought due cooperation of the people the Sonitpur district to make the campaign successful.

The vaccination will be launched at a total of 291 centres in Sonitpur district. The vaccination programme will be launched at 90 centers in Dhekiajuli, 60 in Bihaguri, 70 in Balipara, 22 in North Jamuguri, 38 in Rangapara and eight in urban areas. A total of 703 pregnant women and 3,008 children will be covered under this campaign in Sonitpur district A total of 288 ANMs will administer the vaccine at 291 centres.
