Interactive session by Income Tax department held in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, the Income Tax department conducted an interactive session with the students of DPS Dibrugarh on Saturday. Students of classes 8 to 10 participated in the session that was held on the topic 'The importance of paying tax and the ease of tax compliance'.

Jibanta Kumar Das, joint commissioner of Income Tax, Ojing Dameng, assistant commissioner of Income Tax, circle-1, Dibrugarh, Income Tax officers Babul Roy, Deepak Jagannath Kumar, Ritwik Upadhyay, Anurag Mahella and Income Tax inspector Asish Pradhan interacted with the students. The officials shared the concept of income tax, how the amount collected by the tax is utilized by the government and why an ethical individual should pay tax. DPS Dibrugarh board member Banita Jain was also present in the programme.
