DIBRUGARH: An interactive session with students on mental health, gender issues and stress management was held at DHSK Commerce College, Dibrugarh by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the College in association with the Students' Union, patronized by the IQAC, DHSK Commerce College on Friday.
The resource person, Dr Seujee Goswami conducted two separate sessions with the students. There were more than 90 students ranging from H.S. to M. Com in the general session. She addressed the common but myriad issues faced by the students, especially in the backdrop of the post-Covid situation. Around 10 students received counselling in one to one individual sessions.
The entire college fraternity is grateful to Dr Seujee Goswami who is a Consultant Psychiatrist and De-addiction specialist, MBBS, MD Psychiatry from PGIMER, DR RML Hospital, New Delhi. She is certified in Perinatal Mental Health and in Essential Interventions of Mental Health & Legal Dimensions of Child Sexual Abuse from NIMHANS Bengaluru and also certified in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from NHS, UK.
The programme was inaugurated with a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the DHSK Commerce College family members, including students present.
ICC convenor of DHSK commerce college Maitreyee Baroowa Bhowmick gave a brief background note on the activities of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and welcomed the dignitaries to the dias. The meeting was presided by the Principal Dr. Khanindra Mishra Bhagawati. The other dignitaries on the dias were Prof. Sailen Gogoi, Vice Principal, Dr. Tanka Prasad Upadhyay, Co ordinator, IQAC and the resource person Dr. Seujee Goswami.
