LAKHIMPUR: "To become a successful woman entrepreneur one's mindset is as important as one's skill set. One should focus on the personal journey and personal growth to be successful. Everyday gives everyone chance to learn and to be innovative and that chance should be responded. Determination, tenacity and can-do attitude create one's success story and make one mentally empowered," said Momee Pegu in Lakhimpur on Tuesday. The noted entrepreneur, organic farmer-cum-environmental activist said so while taking part in the programme organized for the celebration of the International Women Day at North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous). In the college, the event was organized by the Women's Studies Center in collaboration with the Students' Union. As a part of the event, an interactive session with the noted woman entrepreneur, organic farmer, environmental activist, who is a young achiever in the true sense, was organized in order to inspire the students of the college in connection with the this year's theme of the International Women's Day. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Biman Chandra Cheitia who delivered his speech on sustainable development. Student Anwesha Neog highlighted the life and achievement of Momee Pegu. Dr. Kakali Bhuyan, the Director of the Women's Studies Center, explained the this year's theme of the event — "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow" and campaign theme "Break the Bias". This year, the theme recognises the contributions of women and girls around the world who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response to build a more sustainable future for all.
