DOOMDOOMA: The Hope for Children, an NGO, celebrated the International Youth Day at Rupai TE Development Office area on Thursday by strictly observing COVID protocol.

The International Youth Day is observed on August 12 every year to bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and to celebrate the potential of youth as partners in today's global society.

Ram Tanti, Headmaster of Rupai TE LP School, and Bijay Dev, social worker, attended the function as invited guests. The programme began with the opening speech by Brother Benjamin Nag. The Regional Officer of the Hope for Children Ritu Tamang also spoke on the occasion.

Among the participants, a girl named Binita, who got opportunity to be interviewed by UNICEF for good performance in the game of football, also participated. She shared her experience and encouraged the participants to take part in the State-level junior football. To make the day more entertaining, a musical chair competition was also organized. A large number of youths participated in the programme.
