TANGLA: Tangla Chamber of Commerce have strongly condemned the recent incident at Tangla Railway Station where in a tussle between a group of five businessmen and a Marketing Inspector of Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board (ASAMB), two of the businessmen were injured, and the secretary of Tangla Chamber of Commerce, Sanjay Sen was critically injured and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital of Patna in Bihar.

Addressing a press conference at Tangla on Saturday, the president of Tangla Chamber of Commerce, Shyamal Sarkar condemned the incident in strong words and raised veracity of doubt over the role of Tangla and Rangapara GRP police officials who have enlarged the accused marketing inspector of Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board (ASAMB) Sunanda Boro on bail.

Refuting the allegations that the businessmen group were drunk, Sarkar asserted that medical reports of the businessmen have clearly affirmed they were in a healthy state of mind. "We are unable to accept the incident where an injured person with fractured shoulder bone is undergoing treatment and the accused person being charged under bailable offence and being enlarged on bail by Rangapara and Tangla GRP police officials," he added. He further demanded impartial investigation into the matter and asserted that the victim's family members are contemplating to move the Railway tribunal and Gauhati High Court with the medical reports of the victim challenging the granting of bail to the accused.
