GUWAHATI: IOCL (AOD) Digboi Refinery donated two ambulances to the Digboi Civil Hospital under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative recently. This contribution towards development of the Digboi Civil Hospital helped fill a major gap in the healthcare service in the remotely located small town.
It is important to note that the ambulances were procured through a hassle- free process of Government E Marketplace (GeM) portal. The ceremonial reception of the ambulances in Digboi was done in the presence of Justice Ajay Lamba, Chief Justice of Guwahati High Court along with Sandeep S John ED (AOD) and refinery head, KK Sharma CGM (T), Ajay Lal GM (F) and other officials.
Subsequently, after the completion of the official process, the CSR team delivered the two ambulances to Digboi Civil Hospital where the same was received by the Suren Phukan Chairman, CHC and Digboi MLA in the presence of PK Nath, DGM (L&D, CC,CSR).
Nath shared details about the committed CSR portfolio of AOD Digboi Refinery and the multiple result-oriented and impactful programmes that the corporation has been involved with in and around Digboi. The thrust areas under which IOCL (AOD) Digboi Refinery is working include provision of drinking water, health, hygiene, rural development, women empowerment, skill development, entrepreneurship development, education, disaster management and various kinds of community welfare projects, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Phukan thanked Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division) Digboi Refinery and expressed immense satisfaction on this meaningful contribution to the development of Digboi CHC and healthcare facilities for the needy residents of Digboi.
