DIGBOI: Based on the request of the Tinsukia District Health authorities, the IOCL (AOD) authority on Saturday donated 10 oxygen concentrators and formally handed them over during a programme here at the Golden Jubilee Covid Care Centre.
Kailash Pati, Executive Director who is also the Refinery Head at Digboi, handed over the concentrators with 7 litres capacity to Dipu Deka, ADC (Health), in presence of Dr. Altaf Ahmed, the Joint Director of Health Tinsukia, Nur Islam Haque, District Programme Manager, Dr. Malabika Deka Saikia, the SDMO Ketatong, and Dr. Niharica Borah, the I/C Digboi CHC.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has been wreaking havoc all over the world. The second wave has in particular been devastating in India leading to sharp increase in positive cases and also many persons have died," stated the press communique issued by AOD.
"The situation has also been grim in Tinsukia district. The availability of oxygen for the COVID patients has been a huge concern," it stated. "Besides providing the oxygen concentrators, IOCL (AOD) has been continuously providing other COVID related supports such as handing over two COVID Care Centres with 160 beds, including logistics supply of beds, mattress, mosquito net, pillows, blankets, bed sheets, pillow covers and toilet kit to each patient," the AOD press communiqué further stated.
