Guwahati: Assam Police's Ride of Pride motorcycle rally turned sour after the IPS officer Anand Mishra met with an accident on Saturday and suffered minor injuries in Kaliabor in the Nagaon district of Assam.

According to reports, it is learned that Mishra fell from the motorcycle after he collided with a cow, who came suddenly in the middle of the highway near the Baghjona area at Jaklabanda.

Mishra was on his way from Kaziranga to Kaliabor with a team of Assam Police at the time of the incident.

Top officials of the Assam Police had kicked off a bike rally going by the name of 'Ride of Pride' on May 2 to celebrate the momentous occasion of winning the prestigious President's Colour Award.

The rally is set to cover the entire perimeters of Assam and it will start from Dhubri. 'Ride of Pride' will last for 8 days and it will cover 27 districts across the state with a total distance of 2055 kilometres.

Notably, Assam Police happens to be only the 10th State Police force in the country to have been conferred with the prestigious President's Colour Award.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the Presidents' Colour Award to the Assam Police at an event in Guwahati on May 10.
