KOKRAJHAR: A group of 16 Indian Police Service (IPS) Probationary Officers visiting Kokrajhar and other parts of BTR were felicitated with traditional Aronai at the SP office conference hall on Friday by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and IGP of BTC, LR Bishnoi and Superintendent of Police of Kokrajhar, RakeshRoushan. The IPS Probationary Officers who are from different States of India, including Maldives and Nepal, are on an exposure tour in BTR.
Talking to mediapersons, the ADG and IGP, BTC, Bishnoi said that as many as 40 IPS Probationary Officers were visiting different districts of Assam and 16 of them were in Kokrajhar to visit various places of the region to study and interact with the people. He said that the officers would visit interior areas to study the art and culture and tradition of ethnic communities of the region, besides interacting with them. He also said that the officers would oversee the electioneering process, strong rooms and preparation of election in the region. He further said that they would visit Tamulpur in Baksa district on Saturday. An interaction session was also held at the conference hall of the Kokrjhar SP office with senior police officers of the district.
