MANGALDAI: The Swachhata Pakhwada, 2022 programme has been observed in all the organisations of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) throughout the country from July 16 to July 31. Synchronizing with the fortnight long celebration, Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Darrang too joined this celebration with various programmes taking the pledge on July 16.

As a part of the celebration, the JSS organized a meeting on Waste Management at Inpection Banglow, Kharupetia Town with the presence of Chairperson of Kharupetia Civic body Krishna Saha, Nalinakshya Chamuah of IIE, Guwahati and Biraj Das former Faculty of IIE Guwahati. 'Competition on making products with waste materials' was organized at Mollapara Training Centre, Mangaldai where a good number of participants took part with high excitement to make products from waste materials.

JSS Darrang has implemented 'Shramdaan and Lecture on importance of plantation of trees' at Hazarikapara in Sipajhar where the rules of the nature between human and plants that depend upon one another through ecosystem of the natural environment were discussed followed by a shramdaan activity by cleaning the compound of the nearby areas and plantation of saplings. Quiz competition, shramdaan and lecture on importance of plantation of trees were also arranged at Basachuba LP School in Sipajhar.

The JSS Darrang has also conducted a Swachhata programme on 'Door-to-door survey and awareness on the use of hygienic sanitary pads' at Kopati Tea Estate and visited the slum areas of Kopati Tea Estate to make a door to door survey regarding awareness on sanitary pads. During the survey, the beneficiaries were made well aware of cleanliness and prevention of diseases by using hygienic sanitary pads and offered sanitary pads to the beneficiaries. Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman of JSS Sanjeev Bora and Director of JSS Sheikh Md Amin took part in the programmes.
