GOLAGHAT: Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases are on the rise in the Golaghat district. As many as 31 Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases have been detected in the district.

Two persons have died and 13 persons are under treatment while 16 persons have been discharged from the hospital. According to report, a large number of patients have been admitted in Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital and other health centres of the Golaghat district after suffering from fever, headache and vomiting.

People said that the Health Department should take various precautionary awareness programmes in the affected areas. They have alleged that no preventive measures have been taken in the district to prevent spread of the disease.
