Jiban Chandra Konwar is new Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) CEM

MORIGAON: Putting an end to all speculation, the State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced the name of Jiban Chandra Konwar as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC).

Konwar took oath at the oath-taking ceremony on Wednesday, which was led by Commissioner of Central Assam, Moloi Bora, and attended by minister Pijush Hazarika, MLA Ramakanta Deuri, the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and 36 other newly-elected members of the council. Madan Bordoloi took the oath as the chairman, Ankur Dewri as deputy chairman and Tulshi Bordoloi as the deputy CEM of TAC.
