JMCH Doctor Killed in Road Accident at Sivasagar District

GAURISAGAR: One person was killed in a road accident that took place at Charing Duarah Ali, 4 km away from Gaurisagar Police Station in Sivasagar district on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified Dr Praytush Kunjan Kaushik, a postgraduate student of Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) in the General Medicine department. According to report, Dr Praytush was travelling to Jorhat in his Maruti Zen car bearing registration no AS-04-C-1850. His car had a head-on collision with a Sivasagar-bound truck bearing registration no AS-01-BC-0054 on NH-37 at Charing.

Dr Praytush was seriously injured and he was immediately shifted to Sibsagar Civil Hospital with the help of Gaurisagar Police but he breathed his last in the hospital on Sunday morning. After postmortem his body was handed over to his family. Ranjan Borthakur, who was also in the car with Dr Praytush, was injured.
