Joint Director of Health Tinsukia Dr. Altaf Ahmed test COVID-19 positive

TINSUKIA: The Joint Director of Health Tinsukia, Dr Altaf Ahmed tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday and was put under isolation at Mohkhuli Model Hospital near Tinsukia while 41 other positive cases have been detected in a single day, taking the tally to 456.

Significantly, out of 41cases, 34 persons acquired the disease through community transmission of which 22 persons turned out to police personnel from Makum police station and two from Doomdooma police station while five persons from Parbotia were infected by contact. Tinsukia district is likely to be brought under complete lockdown from next week, informed an official source.
