Jorhat gears up for Christmas celebrations

JORHAT: Jorhat is all set to celebrate Christmas along with the rest of the country. Churches, Don Bosco institutions, Carmel Convent and Baptist churches are being decorated for Christmas. In Amguri, Borhulla and Mariani a lot of bustles can be seen as people from the bordering state of Nagaland come from the hill districts and villages to Mariani and Jorhat city, said Watty Aoa, an organizer from Mariani Baptist Church.

Several pre-Christmas, as well as Christmas carnivals, had to be cancelled due to the ongoing protest against the CAA. Prayer services have been rescheduled due to the law-and-order situation. Prayer meeting will be held at 4 pm on December 24, informed Father Edward, the head priest of Lichubari Catholic Church.
