SILCHAR: Journalists, print and electronic media, are now given the status of front rank warriors and extended the privileges, never considered for them. During the on going vaccination of citizens from the age of 18 and above, a camp, especially for accredited journalists and their family members, was organised by the district administration of Cachar in coordination with the Working journalists' Association at the conference hall of Cachar Zila Parisad on Wednesday.

Sajjadul Haque Chowdhury, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, welcomed all the journalists attending the camp. Observing covid protocol, 230 media persons and their family members got vaccinated on the occasion. Newly elected MLA Dipayan Chakraborty who graced the occasion as special guest cheered up the journalists who risking their life have been reporting fearlessly from the beginning of the first wave of Corona like frontline warriors.

Dipayan chakraborty was all praise for the district administration of Cachar for arranging the vaccination camp for journalists and their families. Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli, IAS, addressing the journalists expressed her thankfulness to all of them for getting vaccinated and also their support to hold the camp without any hassle or glitch. She said as all the media persons could not be accommodated at this camp, another one would be arranged very soon. Gautom Talukder on behalf of working journalists thanked the district administration for taking particular care of media persons who felt privileged and happy.
