JUA felicitates newspaper hawkers and agents in Tinsukia district

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia district committee of Journalists' Union of Assam (JUA), in association with Marwari Sanmilan, felicitated paper hawkers and agents in a special programme held at Manab Kalyan Prarthona Bhavan, Makum Road in presence of a distinguished gathering.

Narsing Pawar, the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, who was present as chief guest, while appreciating the frontline workers of newspaper industry, recorded their contributions in the society. The programme was moderated jointly by senior journalist and vice-president of JUA, Rupam Kakoti and president of Marwari Sanmilan Tinsukia.

As many as nine newspaper agents of Tinsukia district, namely Bidhan Das of AK Das Paper Agency Tinsukia, Rekhamoni Sarma of Agragami Paper Agency Tinsukia, Rama Sankar Prasad of Nilom Book Stall Doomdooma, Dipak Gogoi of Bidya Bhawan Kakopathar, Subir Mazumdar of Hijuguri Mazumdar Book Stall, Anjali Mazumdar of Mazumdar Paper Agency of Doomdooma, Subhrajyoti Sengupta of Suchitra Paper Agency, ASTC Doomdooma, Bijoy Chowdhury of Digboi and Gopal Das of Rup Brothers, Digboi were felicitated along with hawkers Dhananjoy Deka, Diganta Hazarika, Nepal Roy, Samar Sen and 14 others.
