Junior Engineer of Irrigation department dies in Kokrajhar due to COVID-19

KOKRAJHAR: A Junior Engineer of the Irrigation department, Kokrajhar, Dilip Kr. Ray (55) of Baldiabathan Shaktiashram under Dotma PS in Kokrajhar district died in the wee hours of Tuesday at RN Brahma Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar due to COVID-19.

Sources from RN Brahma Civil Hospital said that Dilip Kr. Ray was brought to the hospital at 11 pm on Monday after he faced difficulty in breathing. Sources also said that Ray had chronic asthma, diabetes and high BP and was engaged in duty in quarantine centre. He died at 2 am on Tuesday morning and Rapid Antigen Test was done after death and he tested COVID-19 positive. Meanwhile, Kokrajhar district recorded 51 active cases till Monday while 51 were discharged.
