NAGAON: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is pressing ahead with its inquiry into the perplexing demise of Assam Police sub-inspector (SI) Junmoni Rabha. Following a meticulous operation in Jakhalabandha on Wednesday, CBI investigators made a significant discovery—a mobile phone—in the wreckage of Junmoni Rabha's severely damaged S-Presso car, which had met with a tragic accident.
On Thursday, a five-member CBI team made its way to Jakhalabandha once again, focusing their efforts on examining the vehicle's components that had sustained damage during the fateful incident, as disclosed by reliable sources. It is noteworthy that the late SI's vehicle is presently being held within the premises of the Jakhalabandha police station.
As part of their ongoing investigation, CBI personnel also retrieved the Engine Control Module (ECM) from the S-Presso car. This crucial component is expected to provide insights into the vehicle's speed at the time of the incident.
Furthermore, sources have indicated that the CBI has summoned several police officers to Nagaon for questioning as part of their comprehensive examination of the case. Additionally, Runa Neog, the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) from Lakhimpur, arrived in Nagaon earlier today, reports suggest.
In connection with the mysterious death of SI Junmoni Rabha, the investigating team from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) rushed to Nagoan Circuit House on Friday again and summoned the PSO as well as other security personnel of former Superintendent of Police Leena Doley. During the day, the investigation agency quizzed several security personnel one by one for long and also recorded their statements separately, sources said.
The central investigative agency’s team earlier camped at Nagaon circuit house for over a month and carried out several rounds of investigation during which the officials of the agency quizzed several police officersm including then OC, Nagaon PS Manoj Rajbangshi, OC Dhing PS Raja Irshad, SI Abhajyoti Rabha, etc and other police personnel in connection with the mysterious death of SI Junmoni Rabha.
