Kalaigaon Raax Mahotsav celebration committee formed for celebrations from November 11

KALAIGAON: The Kalaigaon Raax Mahotsav Celebration Committee will celebrate Raax Mahotsav with traditional pomp and gaiety at the premises of Kalaigaon Raax Mandir.

The Raax Mahotsav will be celebrated from November 11. For smooth conduct of the Raax festival, a reception committee of 101 members was formed, headed by EM Jagadish Sarkar as president, Deben Shaikia as executive president and Pintu Adhikari and Arupjyoti Sharania selected as joint secretaries, in a general meeting on Saturday.

This general meeting was presided over by senior citizen Kamiram Saharia. More than 200 people took part in this meeting. People from all communities took part in the meeting as a symbol of social harmony along with members of student organizations of Kalaigaon. Moreover, eight sub-committees have also been formed. A souvenir will be also published on the occasion with Arun Sarma as president and Jitumani Deka as editor of the editorial committee.
