BOKO: During the ongoing Gunotsav 2022, Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Kailash Kartik N visited Himalaya LP School in Upper Lumpi, Boko along the Assam-Meghalaya border on Wednesday.

As external evaluator, the Deputy Commissioner visited the school along with ADC Rahul S Jarir. The school is situated in a remote location in Upper Lumpi's Harshanagar village. After reaching the school, the DC checked the school, including the school compound, water facilities and school buildings.

Later, the DC taught the students and also had lunch with the children. Himalaya LP School is the last border from Assam. The Deputy Commissioner discussed with the locals and parents about the problems of classrooms and water facilities in Himalaya Primary School in Upper Lumpi. He said the students are enthusiastic about their education and the proposal sent by the education department and the district administration to the government will be implemented soon as there is no ME and high school in Lumpi area.

The DC walked about two kilometers up the hilly road from the main road of Harshanagar in Upper Lumpi and visited the Lumpi Himalaya Primary School in Upper Lumpi.
