Koch Development Council formed at Chick-Chick Club in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: A new development council titled Koch Development Council (KDC) was formed recently at Chick-Chick Club, Magurmari near Kokrajhar for the socio-economic and cultural development of Koch people living in the region. This was informed by the president of the newly-formed development council, Daychand Koch.

He said the KDC was formed in a general meeting on that day where representatives from Assam, Meghalaya and West Bengal took part. The meeting, which was chaired by intellectual Indra Mohan Koch, was also attended by Promod Koch of Meghalaya along with over 100 representatives from three neighbouring States. The meeting also discussed the political aspects of the Koch community and development of language, literature, culture and economy of the community. The KDC was formed with Daychand Koch as president and Rananta Koch of Meghalaya as general secretary.
