Koch Rajbanshi National Convention Demand For Inclusion of Koch-Rajbanshis in NRC

Bongaigaon: Koch Rajbanshi National Convention had demanded inclusion of names of three lakh Koch-Rajbanshi people in the NRC unconditionally. Their names were left out from the final NRC.

In a press meet held on Thursday in Bongaigaon, Biswajit Ray, president of Koch Rajbanshi National Convention, said that about three lakh Koch-Rajbanshi people’s names were not included in the final NRC. “These are indigenous people and hence we demand that their names should be included in the NRC immediately and unconditionally. We also appeal to the All Koch-Rajbanshi Students’ Union, Koch Rajbanshi Sanmilani and Koch-Rajbanshi Youth Forum to be united for the interest of the Koch-Rajbanshi people. This will add force to the agitation for the ST categorization of the Koch-Rajbanshi community,” Ray said.
