BONGAIGAON: Koch-Rajbongshi National Convention (KRNC) has announced its support to the candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) party in total 24 constituencies of BTR in the forthcoming council poll. In a press release, Biswajit Ray, general secretary of KRNC said that they would support BJP in 17 constituencies and UPPL in seven constituencies. "We sat for discussion with Bodoland People's Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary and UPPL president Pramod Boro separately regarding our demands such as ST categorization of Koch- Rajbongshi community, establishing peace in BTR and exclusion of non-Bodo villages from BTR. Mohilary did not show any positive attitude to our demands whereas Pramod Boro assured to support our demands. Hence, we decided to support UPPL. We appeal to all Koch- Rajbongshi people to support them in the BTR election," Ray said.
