Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka receives best DEO award

KOKRAJHAR: Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka has been awarded the best district election officer by the Election Commission of India (ECI) under the category of 'Best Electoral Practices Award, 2021' for 'Innovation Measures'. She received this award from Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Law and Justice of India at a function in New Delhi on the occasion of the National Voters' Day on Tuesday. She won this award for her innovative ideas and strategies in regard to the creation and generation of mass awareness among the voters along with strategies for the smooth conduct of Assembly Elections, 2021 in Goalpara district as all her innovative plans and strategies of electioneering resulted in higher voting percentage, peaceful, re-poll less election in the district.

A few days back, she also brought laurels to Assam for her innovative 'GoalMart' project, which was the brainchild of her innovative mind while she was serving as Goalpara DC.
