Kokrajhar Police Nabbed NDFB (S) Cadre With Arms, Ammo

Kokrajhar: Based on specific information, a joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar Police with Commando Bn. Staff (Camp: Bishmuri PP ) and 12 Sikh LI army in the intervening night of September 22 and September 23 in Laopani Nala and Ultapani Nala areas along the Indo-Bhutan border.

Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh said that in the wee hours of September 23, the joint operation team saw the suspected movement of an individual in the area. The joint operation team apprehended the individual after a chase and he was identified as Dipak Borgoyary (23), son of Tekla Borgoyary of village Gwjwnpuri under Runikhata PS of Chirang. Singh said he was a hardcore cadre of the 41st batch of NDFB (S). The joint team recovered one 7.65mm pistol and five rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition from his possession. Sources also said he had been involved in extortion, recruitment of new cadres and other subversive activities of NDFB (S) in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of BTC. A case has been registered and further investigation is going on.
