Kokrajhar: The stage is set for the third phase elections in 5 No Kokrajhar (ST) HPC amidst tight security for a free, fair and peaceful election tomorrow.

Polling officials were seen moving to the respective polling station since morning hours.

The Kokrajhar district administration has made adequate to ensure smooth, peaceful, free and fair elections.

Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner and Returning officer Partha Pratim Mazumdar said preventive measures have been taken and security intensified. He said round-the-clock vigil is being maintained along inter-state and international borders, including Indo-Bhutan, to thwart miscreants from carrying out subversive activities.

The administration has imposed 144CrPC in the district and the Indo-Bhutan border will be sealed on the polling day.

A total of 180783 voters will cast their votes in 245 polling stations in the Kokrajhar East LAC of which 89269 nos are male and 91514 female.

There are total 2347 polling stations under 5 No Kokrajhar (ST) Lok Sabha constituency.

Kokrajhar is witnessing a multi-corned contest this time with a total of nine candidates in the fray. The candidates are Sabda Ram Rabha of Indian National Congress, Pramila Rani Brahma= Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF), Urkhao Gwra Brahma= United People's Party (Liberal), Biraj Deka= CPI(M), Rajesh Narzary= Voters' Party International, Charan Iswary= Purvanchal Janata Party (Secular), Naba Kr. Sarania= Independent, Ranjay Kr. Brahma= Independent, and Prasenjit Kr. Das= Independent.Kokrajhar ready for the election.
