Kokrajhar virtually witnesses PM Narendra Modi's interaction with beneficiaries

KOKRAJHAR: Kokrajhar district took part in the 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' where Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the beneficiaries of various centrally sponsored schemes from Shimla as part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the Indian Independence and the completion of eight years of the present central government.

On the occasion, Kokrajhar district organised 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' at the auditorium of Science College, Kokrajhar and virtually witnessed the Prime Minister's interaction with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, etc. and the address of the Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma from Sivasagar.

The programme started with lighting of lamp by Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member (CEM), Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and other dignitaries followed by welcome address delivered by Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka. In her introductory speech, Kokrajhar Deputy commissioner Varnali Deka spoke regarding Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and some schemes of the government of India to be covered during the Prime Minister's live interaction programme with the beneficiaries.
