Koliabor Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Calls For Shunning Plastics in Jorhat

JORHAT: Along with the rest of the country, in Jorhat district too the 150th Gandhi Jayanti was observed. On the occasion a plogging programme was kicked off at Ward no. 10 under Jorhat Municipality Board by Gaurav Gogoi, Koliabor Congress MP.

Gogoi said that plastic should be wiped away from every nook and corner of the country. Others present included Rana Goswami, Nikhil Bharat Congress Committee secretary , Deputy Commissioner Roshni Aparanji Korati and Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Nimbalkar.

All the participants of the plogging run gathered in front of the District Session Judge Court and got divided into four groups. The town area wore a fresh look after the plastic and litter were cleaned. Later, a shraddhanjali ceremony was held at Gandhi Park where floral tribute was paid to the Father of the Nation and a prayer meet was held.
