Guwahati: Following the attack upon the convoy of BJP National President Amit Shah during a roadshow on Tuesday evening in Kolkata, Assam BJP unit today launched a silent protest against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party in Guwahati demanding immediate dismissal of the Government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The BJP unit of Assam had also burnt the effigy of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today.

“TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had killed the democracy of West Bengal; she had failed to maintain the law and order situation in the state, therefore the President of India should immediately dismiss the TMC Government from the ruling power,” said one of the BJP member from Assam.

Earlier, Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal also requested the President of India to dismiss the Government of West Bengal led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as soon as possible.

Reacting to the incident, CM Sonowal on Tuesday told the media, “We strongly condemned this cowardly attack by the Trinamool Congress Gangsters on the peaceful rally of BJP National President Amit Shah in Kolkata. The spontaneous support of the people of West Bengal has frustrated Mamata Didi. Now, she has realized that Modi-wave had reached the state and she has now realized that she is losing Bengal, therefore, she and her Government had resorted to ‘Gundagiri’ in the state.”

National President BJP had played a commendable role during the incident, he had appealed to all section of the society to maintain peace and tranquility in their respective region of West Bengal, stated CM Sonowal.

“It is clear that the people of West Bengal had decided to vote for PM Modi, I also appeal to the Election Commission of India to take all possible measures to ensure that there is a peaceful election in the West Bengal. I also request to the President of India to take stern actions against the West Bengal Government for failing in maintaining the Law and order situation in the state and ensure the security of life and property in the state,” adding, “CM Mamata has no right to rule the state, hence President of India should immediately dismiss this Government,” CM Sonowal added further.
