Kolkata : The Kolkata High Court has ordered the West Bengal police department to make searching exploratory investigation on the Faizan Ahmed's death case.

Assam's 23 year old Faizan Ahmed was pursuing his studies from IIT Kharagpur. He was in the  third year, and was studying engineering. Grievously, on the 14th of October his body was found dead in the hostel room of IIT Kharagpur. The police vaguely responded to questions on the post-mortem report saying that they are still waiting for the doctor's final opinion. Faizan's parents Salim and Rehana are a resident of Tinsukia in Assam. After hearing the news both the parents came to Kharagpur and after seeing the body of their son they said that its not a suicide case, rather a murder case. They did not believe that their son would take his own life.

So,they appealed for a probe by a special investigation team on this matter to the Kolkata High Court. The family and their lawyer had also asked for the post mortem report of their son. On the other hand the authorities of IIT Kharagpur has also led a community to find facts on the death of their student.

According to the police many people including the students, counselors and hostel wardens have been questioned regarding the matter. However, Faizan's parents claimed that the cops had not questioned those people, with whom Faizan was in contact with over the past few months on the phone. They had tracked his call records and found that Faizan had contacted many people during the past weeks.

The Kolkata High Court on hearing the petition of the deceased's father, directed the SP of Paschim Madinipur district in West Bengal to appoint a senior officer to take care of the investigation.

Also Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma requested his counterpart in West Bengal Mamata Banerjee for a thorough investigation on the death of Assam boy, Faizan Ahmed.
