DEMOW: Konseng Rajmohan (13), a resident of Bokota Parijat village, was detected as Japanese Encephalitis (JE) positive few days ago after tests were done in Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.

A health team from Guwahati came to Bokota Parijat on Tuesday. According to sources, Konseng Rajmohan (13), son of Nipu Boruah, a resident of Parijat Bokota village under Bokota Mini PHC, was first taken to Bokota Mini PHC on June 25. He was then shifted to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on June 26. Here a CSF test was done on June 30 and the report of the test came on July 1. The report declared that Konseng was suffering from JE.

Meanwhile, precautionary measures were taken in the area by the health officials. The Bokota Mini PHC is under Demow BPHC. When contacted, Nipu Boruah, father of Konseng Rajmohan, on Wednesday said that his son was improving gradually and that he had come back home on Tuesday night.
